Preparing the garden for planting...by 6B

First, we put a layer of brown stuff. We used cardboard and wood.

Then, we scattered green stuff from our homes like egg shells, tea bags, vegetable and fruit scraps...

Then, we carried the bags of soil to the garden, we opened them and we spread some soil everywhere in order to hide the green stuff.

Finally, we scattered some flax straw on the top in order to protect the soil from the cold and keep it damp when it is hot.

We had a lot of fun. (see the photos !)

The next step will be planting the seeds and preparing the big drums for the spring rain.
